Whales

It’s crazy that whales exist 24/7, right now there’s THOUSANDS of the in the ocean. Eating sleeping singing… I wonder if on a night like tonight a mother and her calf breach the waves and see the stars. The stars in all their glory untainted by pollution and the glow of citys. The stars whose light bathed our ancestors before we left the safety of trees. Do you think they see beauty? Are they scared of the dark? Does the mother comfort her child? Of all gods creatures none are majestic as the whale, the peacock more beautiful, a dog man’s best friend, apes are clever and the lion noble. The whales lives in the abyss, itself equally drab and plain.. but the whale dwarfs all life. For when man looks into the eye of a whale he sees his own reflection, not of flesh but of the soul. I wonder.. of what, are the songs whales sing?
